Monkey Island Pyrite Parrot

Description

I decided to make the pyrite parrot from Tales of Monkey Island in order to beef up my Morgan LeFlay costume because, let's face it, no one's going to recognize me. The pyrite parrot was admittedly a throw-away prop from the first chapter, that writers for the successive chapters just kept finding a way to work into the game. In liu of having a guybrush plushie (since such a thing doesn't really exist) it's a good marker for what the character's from and was fun to build!
Here's how it looks in-game: [link]

It's a wire frame with Wonderflex moldable plastic overtop, and it's the first 3D thing I've built using Wonderflex, so it was kind of fun! It's pretty durable too, since it's wire and plastic. (Except the collar, which is typing paper spraypainted gold and superglued to the neck...because I use only the best materials XD)
It was actually interesting when I initially started work on it, I approached ti as I would drawing and made the body first, but then I realized, there was no way to attach the legs sturdily to it! So rather than press on and hope it worked out, I started over, this time using a base wire that formed the basic shape of the leg, up over the back and down to the other leg. Then I cannibalized the first body I'd made to the new frame and whaddaya know? It's sturdy enough to stand on it's own! Neat, huh?
I've put a rig together to keep it perched on my shoulder guard in costume, and when I tested it, it wobbles around a bit, but stays upright. So, success!

Anyway, I know it's not quite how it appears in the game, but I'm proud of the results. I love making stuff, it just makes me happy when I see it all done, even if it's not how I wanted it, I'm still pleased with what I was able to do. :D

((I know I'm behind on commenting on everybody's stuff, i promise to remedy that...again...ASAP! ^^;))
