Tsubasa fanart! Fai and Kurogane (the wizard and the ninja Whoo!)

My first fanart from a professional work. And probably my last. I don't really like doing fanart for people who will never see it, so I don't think I'll do too many. This was more of a "let's see if I can actually do this" sort of thing. And now that I am reasonably satisfied, I can leave it behind me.

I'm somewhat proud of this, though. The lineart is very fluid and far more beautiful that I can generally produce. It tired something different this time: "inking" with pencil instead of pens. And it really worked out well. Avoinding the sketchy lines without the limitations of pens. I may use this a lot in the future.

The shading is a bit more like cel-shading that what I usually use, but I thought that was appropriate to the subject and I truly think it works. I'm very proud of the lighting. And I actually put in a background for once. For those who wonder, the background is inspired by a location that these two fight in in the comics (and the anime too XD)

Still somewhat lacing in detail as all my works tend to do...but old habits die hard and this is better than usual. The relections in the water were a last-minute choice that I am reasonably happy with.

All-in-all, I truly learned a lot from doing this piece, and I hope to improve my own illustrations because of it. I hope you enjoy it was well.
